The new BMW 5 Series M Sport Series

Following the success and popularity of the E60 M Sport models, BMW have announced the introduction of M Sport for the BMW 5 Series Saloon.

For a £3,225 premium (£2,750 for 550i) over SE models, standard M Sport trim includes:

  • 18" light alloy M Double-spoke style 350M wheels
  • Bumper insert, rear, dark chrome
  • Exhaust tailpipes, dark chrome
  • Exterior trim, High-gloss Shadowline
  • Headlining, Anthracite
  • Interior trim, Aluminium Hexagon [Dark Ash-grain wood trim for 550i models]
  • M aerodynamic bodystyling
  • M Sport multi-function leather steering wheel, three spoke
  • Sport seats - front, part electric adjustment [full electric adjustment for 550i models]

With some additional M Sport specific options, which include: M Sport exterior metallic paint: Carbon Black [£640: 520d, 525d, 523i & 528i. £0: 530d, 535d, 535i & 550i] 19" light alloy M Double-spoke style 351M wheels [£1,185 for all models] Grey Shadow cloth/ Alcantara upholstery [£0 for all models] M rear spoiler [£185 for all models]

For the first time on 5 Series Saloon, it will also be possible to delete the M Sport suspension and replace either with the standard suspension [£0 for all models] or with Adaptive Drive/ Variable Damper Control [cost options].

Production for M Sport models will start from week 35 September 2010 with a market launch of 18 September to coincide with the launch of the new BMW 5 Series Touring. Ordering systems will be updated during July and it will be possible to place new orders as well as amend any existing SE orders that are targeting September production.

As the images will prove BMW have a design that is sure to be a winner with company car buyers looking for a premium sports executive saloon.
